Careers
Career Development is part of the Pastoral Care curriculum for all Year 7 to 12 students. The course is comprised of self-development, career exploration and career management. Students have the opportunity to make informed subject and course choices, they develop confidence in making decisions, set goals that reflect their interests and talents and establish career management techniques to form useful habits for their future career planning.
The comprehensive Career Development program includes:
- students preparing and developing their Career Action Plan
- students accessing the online Managed Individual Planning tool
- interviews for students to discuss their Career Action Plan (held each semester)
- subject selection, pathways and VTAC application interviews (Year 9 – 12)
- vocational assessment using Career Voyage (Year 10)
- attending career and industry expos (VCE and Career Expo, Tertiary Information Service)
- working with the Inner Northern Employment Network (assists with a range of industry, employer and job skills programs)
- Work Experience and participation in the Real Industry Job Interviews (Year 10)
- VET TAFE tasters (Year 9 - 10)
- VET programs and Structured Work Place Learning (Year 11 – 12)
- opportunities to explore courses and careers through our association with the Northern VET Cluster, local TAFE and Universities.
