SACCS Chess tournament

Antonine College hosted the SACCS Chess tournament in the new stadium this year. Mr Fomiatti made the formal introductions to our school and wished everyone well.
It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase our new facilities and a pleasure to take part in tournament and accommodate our competitors.
This year we had many students sign up for the Junior and Senior teams, sadly no intermediates. The junior team contenders did really well, to practise each day in the library to prepare for the competition. Students played fairly in some very fierce matches.
Ms Bacash attended the tournament where the 7th
and final round was played and addressed everyone during the presentation of awards. We didn’t get any awards this year but students were able to come away with some well played wins.
