Cedars of Lebanon Folkloric Dance Group from Sydney
Wednesday, February 28, 2024
On Friday 23 February, The Cedars of Lebanon Folkloric Group from Sydney performed for Years 6-10 students and staff. It was lovely to see performers from all age groups share the tradition of Dabke dancing. Lebanese, Syrians, Iraqis all have their own versions and even each town, village in those countries may have their own style.
The Cedars of Lebanon Folkloric Group consists of performances interstate and worldwide. They perform in different venues, continually trying to enhance the multicultural nation of Australia. We thank Elie Arcouri for bringing his group to our school.
We encourage students to learn about the Folkloric dances from the country where their parents are from. It is a great way to keep traditions passing them from generation to generation.
