SACCSS Awards
Monday, November 11, 2024
It was great to attend the 2024 SACCSS Awards on Monday 11th November at CRC Caroline Springs. It was a wonderful day to celebrate all the students who participated in SACCSS sports this year and acknowledge their hard work and determination. We were honoured to have such inspiring guest speakers; Anastasia Kuzmawan and Jaryd Clifford. Anastasia Kuzmawan, a past SACCSS school student, is also an Australian Olympian, at 19 years old, who competed at this year’s Paris 2024 Olympic Games as part of the Australian Artistic Swimming Team. Jaryd Clifford is a three-time Australian Paralympian for the Australian Para-Athletics Team who competed in the Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
All the staff and students at Antonine College, would like to express big congratulations to our two powerhouse women, Selena Alraawan and Lida Zomaya for winning player of the series against all their other competitors.
- Selena was awarded Junior Player of the Series for Girls Australian Rules Football Division 2.
- Lida was awarded Player of the Series Division 1 Senior Football Champions for Girls
Both Selena and Joshua were awarded the John Landy Sportsperson Award.
Selena is an absolute superstar on and off the field! She performed incredibly during the AFL day and premier league soccer. She is a rising leader and learning to use her brilliance to inspire those around her. Selena shows great determination to be the best she can be and no obstacle is big enough to stop her. She has a long journey in sports ahead of her and we can’t wait to see what other achievements she accomplishes.
Joshua is an all-rounder young athlete who is enthusiastic about a large range of sports. Joshua always gives 100% when he plays and consistently displays leadership, perseverance and hard work. He is a great teammate who will always aim to see the positive in any situation.
Thank you to all the staff, coaches and our sports assistant Mikayla Sala, who supported the students to compete in countless SACCSS competitions this year.
