St Vincent De Paul Exhibition

Tuesday, June 11, 2024

National Volunteer Week in Australia occurred from the 20th to the 26th of May. As part of this week, on the 21st of May, a group of student leaders attended the St Vincent De Paul Exhibition, which was held at Xavier College. The exhibition celebrated the invaluable contribution that volunteers have made at the St Vincent De Paul Society, over the past 170 years.

It was an interactive exhibition where students were able to see the history of the charity and the way in which it has developed into what it is today because of the sacrifice, compassion and dedication of the many volunteers overtime. This has enabled the organisation to continue to serve those in need today.

In the lead up to the event, students in Faith Club submitted a ‘message of hope’. The discussed the impact that they wanted to have on their community and on the world.

This was the message that was submitted, along with the image created by Year 7 student Michelle Hanna and Year 12 student Chantel Hanna.

At Antonine College, we believe in creating a future where learners are empowered to act with faith, knowledge and virtue.

We believe in creating a future where the image and likeness of God is reflected in all our actions and words, so that all feel welcomed.

We believe in creating a future where we stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters, responding ‘to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor’.

We believe in creating a future where we encounter the Gospel message and bear witness to it as courageous future leaders striving for a better world.

We believe in creating a future where justice, peace, and ecological stewardship are promoted and lived out by all.

Thank you to all students involved in the exhibition and the entry.
