Year 10 Physics excursion to Scienceworks

On Thursday the 12th of September, the year 10 Physics students attended an excursion at Scienceworks.
The students participated in the Roller coaster engineer workshop. They worked in groups to meet a design challenge with limited resources to design and build a roller coaster with the guidance of the presenter of the workshop.
The students applied the skills that they learnt in Physics this term including, the law of conservation of energy, the effect of forces on the movement of objects and Newton’s three laws of motion as they designed, tested and modified their roller coasters.
