Year 8 MAV Maths Games Day

On Wednesday 21st June a select group of Year 8 students attended the MAV Games Day event held at Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School in Essendon. Split into two groups of four the teams vied for the top spot against 37 other schools with just over 70 teams competing.
The rounds were incredibly competitive with a 40 minute puzzles round followed by three 20 minute versus rounds where students competed directly against students from other schools. The matches were tough with some hard-won team draws and a few individual wins. Antonine College students represented our school community commendably and all reported a hugely fun experience despite us not placing in the top 3.
Congratulations and well done to Charbel, Zeina, Esther, Isaac, Catalina, Maria, Marisya and Gazl for a successful day.
