Year 9 Camp
Tuesday, June 06, 2023
On May 23rd year 9 students from Antonine College packed their bags, said goodbye to loved ones and were on their way to Camp Coonawarra (a 3.5hr drive out of Melbourne). Students partook in a range of different activities; the giant swing, flying fox, the labyrinth, damper making, high ropes course, canoeing and raft making.
These activities allowed our students to build a great deal of resilience, students needed to step out of their comfort zone, work as a team and problem solve to complete many of the activities. In addition to this, students had time at the end of their busy day to build new friendships within their year level, get to know their teachers outside of the classroom walls and grow qualities to make them responsible young adults. It was a pleasure to take this group away, they upheld the college values and represented the college well. I thank Sr Rita, Rob, Lucy, Indira, Isaac and Jye for their assistance and company on camp.
